About Us

Our story began in January 2017, when founder Morgan Thomas started offering guitar lessons right here in Mountain Green. As the love for music grew, so did the vision. In September 2022, construction began on three new music classrooms at the Scotsman Center—built to expand access to high-quality lessons for more instruments and more students. Today, those rooms are alive with music, creativity, and community.

Mountain Music Academy is more than a school—it’s a space to grow, connect, and create. We're proud to be part of the vibrant Mountain Green community, and we’re just getting started.

Morgan Thomas picked up the guitar for the first time at 11 years old, and he hasn't put it down for a day since then. He started teaching at the age of 18, and has since taught hundreds of students in Northern Utah. He is extremely excited and grateful for this new opportunity to grow his business and include other teachers in the new music school. His intention is to build community and love for the arts in the Morgan Valley.

Mountain Music Academy’s mission is to provide music teachers with a clean, professional teaching space to use for lessons and recitals. To provide advertising in the community in order to give teachers the opportunity to grow their schedule as much as they would like to. To encourage teachers to reach their full potential as instructors and musicians. To provide teachers with resources such as sheet music, lesson books, and music equipment.

Mountain Music Academy offers private music lessons to the communities of Mountain Green, Morgan, Huntsville, South Weber, and Ogden Utah. Instruments include: Guitar, Piano, Voice, Violin, Bass, Mandolin, and Banjo. We will also be offering group lessons and rock band programs, as well as composition, theory, and performance workshops in the near future.
